Job Description
We are looking for a Planning Engineer who can operate as a project driver for a large building project. This role goes beyond traditional planning. The candidate will actively support execution by implementing the construction program on site, identifying bottlenecks, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving daily priorities on-site. The ideal candidate should be site-focused, proactive, and capable of translating plans into daily actionable execution
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and monitor detailed project schedules including fortnightly lookahead Primavera P6 / MS Project
- Perform critical path analysis, progress tracking, and delay identification
- Identify execution risks, constraints, and bottlenecks proactively
- Act as a project driver, ensuring alignment between planning team and actual site progress
- Prepare and communicate Top 10 daily priority action points for the site team
- Track closure of daily activities and ensure focus on critical work fronts
- Coordinate with project teams, engineering, procurement, and sub-contractors for issue resolution
- Highlight key execution challenges related to design, materials, manpower, and approvals
- Escalate major bottlenecks to PMO along with clear recommended actions
- Support preparation of recovery plans and monitor their implementation
- Provide concise updates to PMO on Progress status, Delays and risks, Key bottlenecks, and Required interventions
- Maintain planning records, reports, and dashboards for effective project control
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
- 6–8 years of experience in Planning & Scheduling, Site Execution Support, and Large Building / Infrastructure Projects
- Strong hands-on experience in Primavera P6 / MS Project (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, CPM, and project lifecycle
- Ability to drive execution and coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
- Self-driven and high ownership mindset with strong follow-up ability
